Ischemic stroke (brain infarction) is an acute disorder of cerebral circulation due to deficiency of delivery of arterial blood to the brain, which leads to its hypoxia and development of areas of necrosis. It mainly occurs due to blood vessel occlusion.
Every year, in Ukraine, there are more than 110 thousand cases of stroke, which is the main cause of mortality and disability of the population.
Thus, 60 % of patients with acute stroke have stable neurological functional disorders that interfere with normal human life.
Acute ischemic stroke is a disease the progression of which can be prevented if the patient is timely hospitalized and prescribed the necessary treatment.
